U7 Coaches Resources

Please see resources below for your own coaching development:

USA 8 and under practice plan manual:  This is fantastic for those coaches that are very new and needing some background on edge work, puck control, passing and receiving and shooting terms.  There are also some drills in this manual that you may not find in the Hockey Canada resources.  I highly recommend looking this over before you begin your season.

Hockey Canada U7 on ice practice plans:  This link will take you directly to the list of practice plans that are easy to print out and follow.

U7 Fundamental Skills List:  It's important to remember that while hockey needs to stay fun for our little guys, we must incorporate instruction of all the fundamental skills so the players are prepared to move up to the next division.

Sask Hockey Association U7 page:  All you need to know about coaching U7 hockey in Saskatchewan.  This explains the theory behind Cross-Ice Hockey and it's benefits as well as coaching certifications needed, when they take place, and required equipment.

Spordle:  Through this link, you will search and register for all required certifications to be a coach, assistant coach, or parent helper.  BMHA and your director can advise you which courses you still require.  Remember, you must also submit a criminal record check to BMHA before October 30th.
