As per SHA Regulation 3.08.01 the following criteria shall be used to determine team standings in the event of a tie at the conclusion of pool play:
iii. If still tied, the team with the best goal average in all games would qualify. The goal average of a team is determined by dividing the total number of goals for by the total number of goals for and against in all games played. Note that a maximum of 7-goal difference per game will be used in the calculation of the game ratio. This will be calculated from the actual "goals for" of the losing team in the particular game.
Note this tiebreaker is used to determine the seeding of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.
iii. If still tied the team with the fewest goals against in all the games played
Note: Once a step in the three or more team tiebreaker establishes a ranking of a team(s), they assume that position and the remaining teams go to the next step. They do not go back to the "Two Team Tiebreaker"
Game duration: Pool and medal round play will consist of two (2) 20 minute straight time periods and one (1) 20 minute stop time period. The ice will be cleaned after the second period and after the game. If there is a five goal or more spread in the third period, there will be straight time. If the spread goes back to under five goals the game reverts back to stop time.
The tournament committee reserves the right to adjust the playing time and ice cleaning schedule of any and all games. Teams will be advised of any adjustments.
Overtime: There will be no overtime in pool play. If Final games tied at the end of regulation the winner will be determined as follows: Teams will not change ends. Teams will play 5 minute sudden death, stop time periods in a three skaters on three skaters format with the goalies in until a winner is decided. In the event of a penalty, the penalized team will have their player in the penalty box and the opposing team will be allowed a fourth player (ie four on three). The penalized player will rejoin the play at the end of the penalty and play will continue until a stoppage in play. The teams will then revert back to a three on three format. In the event of a 2nd penalty during the 1st penalty, the unpenalized team will go to five on three. Penalties in regulation will overlap into the overtime period. If the game is still tied after 5 minutes then a shoot-out will take place. The first round will be 3 shooters from each team with the visiting team shooting first. If still tied, each team will provide additional players in a sudden death shootout. You may not use a player twice in the shootout until all your players have shot. You may not use a player three times until all your player have shot twice.
All Match penalties, Major penalties, Game Misconducts and Gross misconducts will be suspended according to SHA regulation 6.10.
The home team shall wear light colors.
Each team will be allowed one (1) 30 second time-out per game.
The referee's decisions are final in all matters pertaining to rule interpretations, assessment of penalties and awarding of goals and assists.
Due to time limits, there will be NO stick or equipment measurements. Referees are empowered at their discretion to remove dangerous equipment from the game.
PROTESTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.
