Under 11

Welcome to the 20/21 U11 Season!!

Oct. 04 - 2020

Welcome to the U11 20/21 hockey season. I am sure you have many questions about how this year will look, we will diligently follow guidelines from Saskatchewan Health Authority and SHA to ensure our protocols are in place to keep the kids safe and continue the Return to Play objective.

As per SHA, we will be scheduling pre conditioning skates. In following with protocols the division will be formed into bubbles to minimize contact. Our situation can change at any time, resulting in either more or less constrictions to our season. Please continue to check the website for any and all updates.

Presently our division will look like this:

A bubble, or mini-league or cohort may have 50 participants in total, including coaches, players and volunteer helpers

We have 64 registered in U11 so 2 bubbles have been created. One for 2010's and one for the 2011's

Both bubbles will have 3 groups with 10-12 kids each.

Ice sessions can have a maximum of 30 participants on the ice at one time, including coaches , players and helpers.

Only groups in the same bubble can share the ice and/or practice together.

Coaches may only help groups in their same bubble.

Players may not change bubbles.

**Siblings will stay in the same bubble

NO games have been scheduled at this time, we will focus on skill development and conditioning until further updates allow.

Please note that both the Civic Centre and Battleford Arena has their own set of protocols in place. Please take the time to click on the below links and familiarize yourself with them before you arrive at the rink.

I also encourage parents to access the Hockey Canada Hockey University , set up a profile if you don't already have one, and then sign up for the "Planning a Safe Return to Hockey" course. Its free, online and only takes a few minutes to complete. It may help to answer some of the questions you have about the upcoming season.

Current Covid Protocols

- Players will need to arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before the beginning of the ice session fully dressed. The use of skateguards is encouraged so that skates can be tied before entering the rink.

-  Goalies will be allowed to use the dressing rooms, one will be designated for them

- All skaters must bring a pre-filled water bottle with their name clearly visible on the bottle. no sharing of water bottles will be permitted.

- No sharing of equipment is permitted.

- Each group will have a designated volunteer in charge of taking attendance and pre screening at each practice session.

- Follow all social distance markers and all protocols in place at the arenas.

I realize their is a lot of information to digest, and it can be very confusing. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions and need clarification. It is extremely important for everyone to follow the guidelines set for our season. Health officials will be monitoring us, so please, for the kids, lets not create any issues that jeopardize our season.

Stay tuned for the next post, I will be listing the groups and leaders for each bubble.
