Below Please find the welcome email and tournament draw for Biggar. Please be sure to explain the 3 goal limit per game to your player and we will discuss it as well prior to each game.

We play as follows

Game 1: 9:15 Maroon v Biggar White

Game 2: 11:45 Maroon v. Swift Current

Game 3:  TBD 3:30 if (C)/4:45 if (B) /6:00 if (A)

 

 

Hello Everyone! 

 

I would like to thank you all for entering our Biggar Nationals Novice Tournament, coming up soon, January 11, 2020.  Please find attached the game draw for the day, and below information regarding the tournament.  

 

Here are the details regarding the day:

• Each team has a dressing room assigned to them for the whole day, so you can keep your bags in there all day.
• Please ensure promptness getting onto and off the ice for games.  There will be a very brief 2-min max warmup/game.  Quick end swap for goalies between periods and game will resume. 
• We will have a complimentary ‘treat’ bag for each player upon arrival in your dressing room.
• We have a large Raffle Table, Loonie Sticks, and 50/50 … draws will be made at 3:00 pm.
• Food: Our rink booth will be open all day.  If you want to dine out, we have a few restaurants in town:  Snow White (Chinese), Town & Country (Chinese), Subway, Hannigans (Pizza/Fast food) & Kelly’s Kitchen (Diner).
• Bowling: If you have a longer break between games, we have a bowling alley located just a couple blocks up 1^st Ave.  You can call (306) 948-2255 to book a game.

 

GAMES/RULES:

• All games will be played as TWO x 25-minute straight time periods. 
• 3 goals max/player/game.
• All games will become stop time ONLY IF the game is (or becomes) within 2 points during the last 5 minutes.  It will resume straight time if it goes back past 3.
• Round robin games that end in a tie will remain a tie.
• Final games that end in a tie will have a 5-min straight time, sudden death overtime period, played 3 on 3.  If no score, then a shootout will occur until a winner is determined.  In the event of final game OT, goals/player starts back at zero at start of OT.
• Hustler Award presentations will be awarded immediately following the handshakes at the end of each game.  Please try and be organized and have your players do the sportsmanlike handshake and then line up on the blue lines for the presentation. 

**Coaches will pick their own players to receive the award.**

FRIENDLY REMINDER:  Our refs are just kids, just as our players are!  We have zero tolerance to yelling, bullying or threatening behavior from the bench and/or bystanders.  Anyone found to be participating in such behavior will be asked to leave the tournament.

This tournament is held to be a FUN day for everyone - lets enjoy watching our young hockey players and the company of our hockey friends and family throughout the day!
