I sincerely apologize for the multiple changes and emails this week. I would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this time.
Your child's safety is of the utmost importance to me and have been at the centre of all the decisions made so far this year.
Although we were operating under proper restrictions, we have had some recent events in our community that we can not ignore. I have consulted with our COVID representative on the BMHA board, our BMHA president and our coaches to ensure our kids are in the best and safest environment to play the game they love.
So with very careful consideration, the season will proceed as follows.
An emergency meeting is scheduled with coaches this evening. There will be three teams created by draft. The goal is to make the teams as balanced as possible to create exciting games. The teams will then begin practicing tomorrow together instead of the scheduled evaluations.
The three teams will be our mini league for the season. I am confident in our coach's abilities to provide excellent instruction to our players. The goal is to get them out on the ice, working hard and having fun.
After the coaches meeting tonite, i will post the teams and email them out to you. We will use tomorrows ice times for team practices instead, so please check to see which one your child will be at.
This definitely is not how I saw this season playing out when I took this position and I can understand how frustrating this is for everyone. I will be at the rink tomorrow during all the practices, please don't hesitate to approach me with concerns or questions.
